The Marina area is the heart of Puerto Aventuras with the Dolphin Discovery Programs at the center. Restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and often have live music in the evenings. Specialties include local Yucatan dishes, fresh seafood, Italian cuisine, and traditional Mexican fare as well as burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and nachos. Remember you are on Caribbean time so service is often slow.
Water and ice are safe here but we recommend using bottled water, which is readily available, for drinking. The Mexican sun is hot so it s important to stay hydrated.
For shopping, stroll around the local shops and boutiques featuring silver, talavera pottery, handmade jewelry, textiles, and clothing.
Internet cafés, pharmacies, small supermarkets, car rental agencies, ATM's and money exchanges are also in the marina area. Many smaller shops and restaurants do not accept credit cards but will accept cash in good condition no tears or writing and no foreign currency coins.
